Beyond Appearances

In mapping New York state, the urgency for remediation within the lands revealed itself. The need for attention naturally drew itself out through my research on the toxicity of the land. Other developing tech- nologies in present time are affecting our surrounding environment as well, with one of the largest factors being gas drilling.
Horizontal fracking and natural gas drilling is seen as one of the leading caus- es terminal and life threatening illnesses. During the spring semester of 2010, the process of gas drilling and fracking was still relatively unknown, and brought me to the forefront of beginning to create buzz about the issue, getting involved with Environment New York.
